Besides following our route map, keep in mind that your turn around points are not exactly half way out. Also remember that your GPS may not match exactly with our course mearurements. If you start at the toll house on Bridge of the Gods, and finish in Marine Park along the sea wall across from the shelter, here are your turn around points:

HALF MARATHON: your turn around is 6.37 miles out. You will see a “Gorge Trail 400” sign on the left at 6.35 miles out. Walk or run just beyond that sign and then turn around!

10K: Your turn around is at the very top of the Stairway to Heaven, just beyond the Eagle Creek trailhead at 2.92 miles out.

5K : your turn around is at 1.36 miles out before you enter the tunnel to cross under I-84

When you finish at Marine Park, make sure to celebrate by doing a dance with a Goddess Groove Move (think disco/sprinkler/Night Fever). Good luck!

Operation GODDESS Food/Supply Drop: Donations to the Cascade Locks Food Bank:

The Bridge of the Goddess will be donating a portion of it’s proceeds to this amazing cause!

Positive Impact On Community:

We are particular about where we develop our events.  We want to make a positive impact on the areas where we run and walk. We support The Port of Cascade Locks, The City of Cascade Locks, and the surrounding communities including Skamania and Hood River.  We support local groups, clubs and businesses, and we hope you will too! Thank you to all of the Goddesses that donated to FISH 2 years ago year during devastating forest fires.  Together we raised money to help those that were evacuated from their homes by providing them with food and items they needed.  We also assisted in feeding the Firefighters that were fighting the fires for weeks.  The Goddesses DELIVERED not only by adjusting to our venue change but also with heart and soul and community.  Thank you.

Things to do in the Columbia River Gorge:

Check out these cool things to do!

Get your GODDESS on! Easy scenic drive from Portland or Hood River.  Come see the amazing Columbia River Gorge! The Bridge of the Goddess Half Marathon and 10K won’t disappoint!  We will begin in the town of Cascade Locks, OR on the  Bridge of the Gods.  Once we leave The Bridge of the Gods we will make our way onto the Historic Columbia River Highway Trail for an out and back. This course is challenging and amazingly beautiful, well-supported and safe from traffic. A great training run or walk for a fall marathon. Ferns, moss-covered rocks, waterfalls and delicate, shaded wildflowers flank the paved trail. Several U.S. Forest Service trails intersect this segment of the trail including the Pacific Crest Trail.  This historical trail is where motorists on old U.S. Highway 30 once crept around curves high along the cliffs of the Columbia River Gorge. This trail is amazingly beautiful albeit a bit hilly in places. The incline will most likely not be what stops you, it will be the views. Upon your return to Cascade Locks you will finish in Marine Park where the finish line festivities will begin with food, beer and live music from Hit Machine.  Celebrate your adventure with the Goddesses along the shores of the beautiful Columbia River – nothing like it! What a starting line! What a finish line!

After a short half mile warm up walk, Goddesses will find themselves on the center of the Bridge of the Gods.  The Bridge of the Gods will be closed at 7:30am for staging and photo opportunities so arrive early and enjoy the scenery! There will be delays beginning at 7:30AM in Cascade Locks because of the bridge closure.  For a smooth and enjoyable morning, plan to arrive by 6:45am.

Costume Contest:

So many ways to dress up like a GODDESS!!  What is yours? Dress the part and win!  A $100 gift card to Portland Running Company will be given to the best costume. Head wreaths, gold cuffs, toga dress, you decide!  Get in touch with YOUR inner Goddess!
